March 28, 2019 research Department of M. Auezov SKSU held an international scientific conference "Noble descendants of the great steppe, who tempered the spirit of the nation", dedicated to the 125th anniversary of the outstanding statesman and public figure, scientist and publicist of Kazakhstan - Sultanbek Kozhanov (1984-1938).  The conference is held in the framework of the implementation of the article the First President-the President of the Republic of Kazakhstan – N. Nazarbayev's "Seven sides of the great steppe", where the actual issue was the intensification and systematization of scientific and popular events "Personalities of the great steppe", the coverage of historical periods of the past and the activities of famous personalities of our country, in particular S. Kozhanov.

The purpose of the conference of the SKSU named after M.Auezov is to raise topical issues in scientific research about S.Kozhanov, acquaintance with little-known facts of an outstanding personality, S.Kozhanov's activities with Alash-Orda, linno relationship with N.Tureculov, K.Hodzhikov, T. Ryskulov, M. Tynyshbaev, M. Shokai, S. Lapin, A. Orazayev, S. Akaev. Socio-political and social processes in Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia in the early twentieth century.

The conference is aimed at sections - research and propaganda of social and political activities and cultural heritage of S. Kozhanov, national statehood and historical figures in the first half of the twentieth century, the legacy of creativity and political activities of historical personalities. Studying the values ​​of social activities of the individual, conducting basic research, raising patriotism among the younger generation and a sense of pride in the history of their people, awareness of the national history, formation of the Kazakh people a sense of pride in their ancestors, who are direct participants in the development of Kazakh statehood, the struggle for independence.
