On February 29, 2016, in cooperation with the International Organization of “British council” at the British Embassy, at JSC “NCPD Orleu” and the Department of Academic Affairs of M.Auezov South Kazakhstan State University held a conference “Approaches to Teaching Content through English: Content and Language Integrated Learning (CLIL)”on the subject-language integrated learning for teachers and university lecturers, who teach academic subjects in English.

The conference, organized within the framework of the State program of functioning and development of languages and realization of multilingual education in the Republic of Kazakhstan for 2011-2020, was attended by representatives of the International Organization of “British council” Neil Winston, Mark Waistell, Phil Boll, project manager on  English language of “British council” in Kazakhstan Ardak Bekturova, Head of the division “Science and international cooperation” of JSC “NCPD Orleu” Zhantemirova Dana.

Workshops on teaching the subjects in English language

The conference was attended by teachers of Taraz State University named after M.Kh.Dulati, South Kazakhstan State Pharmaceutical Academy, Academy of Languages ​​of Kazakhstan Engineering and Pedagogical University of Nation’s Friendship, specialists of “Baiterek” Education Center (Shymkent), teachers of Nazarbayev Intellectual School and the teaching staff of the University departments “English Linguistics”, “Foreign language for humanitarian specialties”, “Foreign language for engineering specialties”, “Foreign language for agro-industrial specialties” and teachers conducting the subjects in English language.
In the sectional sessions of the International Organization of “British council” were conducted master classes and were given guidelines for teaching the subjects in English. In addition, an exhibition of educational materials with the support of the publishing house of “McMillan” were presented.
