The results of the global QS World University Ranking-2025, which is published annually by the British company - Quacquarelli Symonds (QS), specializing in analyzing the global higher education market, have been published.

This year M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University took 621 position among 1503 best universities in the world.

5663 universities applied this year and  1503 universities from 106 countries were included in the ranking, 21 universities of them from Kazakhstan.

The position of a university in the list is determined based on nine criteria:

1) Authority and recognition in the academic environment,

2) Reputation among employers,

 3) The ratio of teaching staff and the number of students,

4) The share of teachers and scientists who have publications in highly rated scientific journals

5) Index of international collaborations - the number of publications in collaboration with foreign colleagues with non-zero citations (excluding self-citations), indexed by Scopus over a five-year period per employee;

6) The level of employment of graduates and the number of outstanding graduates;

7) Sustainable Development Goals - research within the framework of the SDGs;

8) Proportion of foreign students

9) Proportion of foreign teachers
