- Hits: 41
Mukhtar Auezov South Kazakhstan University hosts the "Study in Kazakhstan" fair, where 20 branches of leading international universities present their programs to local students. About 4,000 high school students from grades 9 to 11 have already attended, including visitors from Kyzylorda.
Ruslan Yemelbayev, Advisor to the Minister of Science and Higher Education of Kazakhstan, and Aidos Zhumanazar, a career guidance specialist, attended the fair. They emphasized the importance of the event and shared valuable advice on choosing a career.
"From 2022 to 2024, with the support of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, 23 international university branches have been opened in Kazakhstan as part of strategic partnerships. This is a great opportunity for young people in our country. Now, students can receive a high-quality international education without leaving Kazakhstan and, importantly, with state funding. These universities focus on training specialists in high-demand disciplines such as IT and artificial intelligence. Work in this direction is still in progress, and this year a branch of Seoul National University of Science and Technology will be opened at Korkyt Ata Kyzylorda University," Ruslan Yemelbayev said.
Many graduates showed great interest in the Chinese branch of Al-Farabi Kazakh National University. "Graduates are eager to learn about the Chinese university, its programs, and admission requirements. We have noticed a strong demand for IT-related majors," said Karlygash Borankulova, a representative of the university branch.
Applicants are thoroughly researching the specifics of education at these international university branches, the opportunities for dual-degrees, and learning how these institutions operate in Kazakhstan.
With the upcoming Unified National Testing (UNT), students will soon have to make an important decision about their future profession. The “Study in Kazakhstan” fair serves as an important platform for career guidance.
