Meeting with veterans of the Afghan war and the Great Patriotic War, dedicated to the Day of Defender of the Fatherland and Victory Day "Nobody is forgotten, nothing is forgotten" took place at the faculty for work with foreign students and pre-university training in M. Auezov SKSU. The Chairman of the Council of Veterans of the University E.Tleuov and the Chairman of the Society of Afghan War veterans K. Ospanov, Deputy B. Otabayev, college students and students of the Faculty participated in the event.
The meeting touched upon the history of the Afghan war: by the decision of the Government of the Soviet Union in December 1979, Soviet troops were sent to Afghanistan, from where they were withdrawn on February 15, 1989.
The presenter noted that those who passed through the crucible of the Afghan war are present at the Memorial evening. The guests - internationalist soldiers told about the heroic courage of their compatriots, the tragic consequences of the war, the battles in which they took part.
An indelible impression on everyone produced a video dedicated to the 28th anniversary of the withdrawal of the Soviet Army from Afghanistan.
The chairman of the Council of Veterans of the University E.Tleuov spoke about the heroic deed of the participants of the Great Patriotic War, who made a great contribution to the fight against the German invaders, noted the invaluable contribution of the veterans in approaching the Victory Day on the fronts and in the rear.
During the meeting they listened to the faculty received exhaustive answers to questions about the cause and consequences of the war, full information about military events, trials on the battlefields, discovered unknown pages of the war.
The concert program was dedicated to veterans of the war. There were songs about the war. No one left the indifferent term "Karailadar Karttarga", "Kazakh bolyp tuganyma maktanam" in the performance of the listener Sh.Ynyrbai and the song "Elim Menin" performed by N.Bazarbek.
The students of the faculty expressed gratitude and presented memorable gifts to the veterans, who became for them a symbol of courage, heroism and fortitude.
