June 28, 2018 on the basis of L.N. Gumilyov Eurasian National University Department of Higher and Post-Graduate Education of the Ministry of Education and Science of the Republic of Kazakhstan jointly with the Center for the Bologna Process and Academic Mobility held a practical seminar for staff of international departments of universities on internationalization. The purpose of this event was to increase the level of internationalization in Kazakhstan universities, the development of a tool to measure the level of internationalization in the universities of Kazakhstan.

          The seminar was attended by Directors, heads, specialists of international departments of universities of Kazakhstan, invited foreign top managers, representatives of the company British Council. The seminar was held in three languages - Russian, Kazakh and English. The program of the seminar was divided into three blocks of issues to be discussed, such as academic mobility, the attraction of foreign experts in the top management of universities and the involvement of foreign scientists to lecture and conduct scientific consultations.

        In addition to the above, representatives of the British Council together with the staff of the Al-Farabi KazNU and M. Auezov SKSU presented a presentation on the results of successful practice on the implementation of internationalization in Kazakhstan universities, where the head of the international cooperation center of M. Auezov SKSU A. T. Turymshayeva made a report on the theme" Successful experience of internationalization-on the example of M. Auezov SKSU ".

         The report presented examples and obstacles to the implementation of internationalization of education and research, as well as recommendations in view of modern requirements with further implementation in the strategy of internationalization of universities..... "Taking into account the new priorities of the country in the field of higher education, Kazakhstan's universities are expected to undergo major changes, and in response to these challenges it is necessary to reorient the creation of innovative solutions and opportunities in accordance with the needs of the global labor market" - said A. T. Turymshayeva in her speech.

         Recall that at the beginning of this year M. Auezov SKSU  took part in the project" Evaluation of internationalization strategies in Kazakhstan universities", conducted by the British Council in Kazakhstan. The project was attended by 6 regional universities of Kazakhstan, within the framework of the project, information meetings were held, where the consultants of the project were acquainted with the strategies of universities in the field of internationalization of education and research. As a result of the project, a self-assessment tool of internationalization strategy was developed in the form of a questionnaire that will allow universities to identify and assess the strengths and weaknesses, barriers and opportunities of existing strategies in the field of internationalization.
