BIG WELCOME FOR ASIAN WINTER GAMES MEDALISTS

Today, Shymkent residents warmly welcomed their hometown athletes who returned from the 9th Asian Winter Games in Harbin, China, with medals in freestyle aerials. Among those representing Shymkent were Ayana Zholdas, Asan Asylkhan, Ardana Makhanova, Dinmukhammed Rayymkulov, Sherzod Khashirbayev and Ulanbakir Umurzakov.

Both Ardana Makhanova and Dinmukhammed Rayymkulov are second year students at the “Faculty of Sports and Tourism” at M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.

The city held a special ceremony to honor the athletes, where Maratbek Myktybekov, head of the Shymkent Department of Physical Culture and Sports, Gani Besbayev, Vice-Rector for Social and Educational Affairs, and Baglan Inkarbek, head coach of Kazakhstan's national freestyle acrobatics team, congratulated them on their achievements.

Ardana Makhanova and Ayana Zholdas won bronze medals in women’s aerials synchro at the Asian Winter Games in Harbin.
Dinmukhammed Raiymkulov holds the title of International Master of Sports. He is a member of the national team, a champion of youth games and sports festivals, and a medalist in World and European Cups. He is also the winner of the Youth World Championship in freestyle aerials.

Recently, the Junior World Ski Championships in Freestyle Moguls and Freestyle Aerials took place in Almaty, where 110 athletes from 13 countries competed. On the third day of the championships, Dinmukhamed Raiymkulov made history by winning the first ever gold medal in freestyle aerials.
