The faculty of the department actively publishes scientific works. Every year, senior lecturers and teachers of the department participate in various publications and scientific conferences. The department conducts research in such areas as artificial intelligence, biometrics and network technologies.

From 07.10.24 to 18.10.24, the teaching staff of the Department of "Computer Engineering and software" underwent a 72-hour advanced training course on the topic "Inclusive Education and Training in Higher Education" at the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.

The following are the achievements of the faculty members of the Department of "Computer Engineering and software" in various fields and areas:

From January 20 to January 31, 2025, the Auezov Winter School "Innovative Future of Artificial Intelligence and Information Technologies" was held with the participation of the Department of Computer Engineering and software with Information Systems of the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University.
Speakers and listeners from 7 countries (Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Russia, Turkey, Poland, Belarus and Azerbaijan) and 19 universities participated in the winter school. Among the speakers were senior lecturers and teachers from the department.
At the closing ceremony, the speakers and listeners expressed their gratitude to the Department of Computer Engineering and Software and Information Systems of the M. Auezov South Kazakhstan University to the organizers of the winter school.

Akhmetova Sabira Tastanovna was on a business trip to Kazan Federal University, Institute of Computational Mathematics and Information Technology, Kazan, Republic of Tatarstan, Russian Federation.

Duration of the business trip: 01.12.2024 to 07.12.2024.
Position in the project: Project Manager, Leading Researcher of the AP19680646 project on the topic "Highly automated unmanned vehicles for various purposes".
The purpose of the business trip was - Discussion of the results of the constructed algorithms for controlling the movement of agricultural unmanned transport for a wide range of purposes with leading scientists of the institute and departments of KFU.

At the meeting, the doctor of technical sciences, professor noted what algorithms should be for controlling the operation of an unmanned agricultural vehicle. During the meeting, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor Chikrin D.E. told the history of the emergence of the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Information Technology and what scientific areas the scientists of the institute are engaged in. Further directions of the project research were discussed, which are effective for clarifying the requirements for specialized software. Deputy Director of the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Information Technology, PhD, Associate Professor P.A. Kokunin introduced the material base of the Institute of Computational Mathematics and Information Technology.

An assessment was made of the results and achievements of the scientists of the Institute and departments in the field of development of automation systems, information support of SA, robotics and BTS. Practical and theoretical experience was gained in the application of modern and innovative technologies for the development of SA BTS.

Scientists of the KFU Institute of Computational Mathematics and Information Technology introduced us to the developments in the field of BTS. A mini tractor and a universal row-crop tractor of medium power manufactured by MTZ were presented, which were improved by specialized automation systems, due to which these tractors became BTS.
